week 1
Traumatology
In the first week students will tour Hopsital del Trauma, one of the largest hospitals in Costa Rica.
They will do rotations and observations with a traumatologist. They will receive an overview of the healthcare system in Costa Rica. Additionally, students will also learn about pharmacy in Costa Rica.

week 3
Public health
Students will learn about public health in Costa Rica .

week 2
Dentistry / Oral Implantology
Students will shadow dentists and observe surgeons. They will receive lectures from practicing oral implantologists and dentists.

week 4
Lifestyle & Traditional Medicine
Students will examine intercultural health and alternative healthcare practices in Costa Rica, including beliefs and health practices of the Bri Bri indigenous groups.
​
Students will visit Bri Bri, one of the largest remaining indigenous groups in Costa Rica. They will learn about and observe Bri Bir healing practices.
Excursions: Students will visit Bri Bri in Talamanca
