What if I don't speak Spanish?
It's Ok! Students with varying levels of proficiency from beginner to advanced will benefitt from the program. Studying abroad is the fastest way to become more fluent in a second language!

Where do I pay?
You can make your deposit and payments in the Office of Fiscal Services. (3rd floor Xavier South)
Check, money order, and credit card are accepted.

How can I fundraise? Are there scholarships available?
Students have been successful with sites such as gofundme.com. There are some scholarships available for study abroad such as the Gilman scholarship. Check with Professor Farudi or the CIIP office for more details.

Why should I study Medical Spanish?
The number of Spanish speakers in the United States is on the rise and studies show that delivering care in a patient's native language improves results. Effective communication is an essential part of excellent healthcare. No matter what field you go into, knowing a second language will be extremely beneficial.
Costa Rica presents an ideal location to study Medical Spanish as it is consistently ranked in the top 3 for healthcare in Central & South America.

Will I get Xavier credits?
Yes! You will receive 5 Xavier credits.

Is airfare included?
Airare is not included. However, rates to Costa Rica are reasonable. Any questions about finding reasonable airfare- just ask!
